Tar Heels Earn Overtime Win Over Ohio State

Three North Carolina players scored 20 or more points, highlighted by Armando Bacot’s 28 points, propelled the Tar Heels to an 89-84 overtime victory over Ohio State in the first game of the 2022 CBS Sports Classic on Saturday afternoon at Madison Square Garden in New York.

While Caleb Love and RJ Davis finished with 22 and 21 points, respectively, It was Pete Nance who’s last second turnaround jumper with 1.2 seconds remaining that sent the game into overtime tied 79-79.

The Tar Heels rallied on more than one occasion throughout the game, trailing by as many as 14 late in the first half and by 10 midway through the second before pulling even and forcing overtime.

Ohio State was paced by Brice Sensabaugh, who finished with 22 points. Bruce Thornton added 17 and Justice Sueing had 16 points for the Buckeyes.
